The Steentijddag is an annual event that always takes place on the first Saturday in February. It is an initiative of the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden and the Faculty of Archeology at Leiden University. The organization is in the hands of the Steentijddag working group. The Steendtijddag is meant for anyone who is interested in the archeology of the Stone Age. The day consists of lectures on various aspects of Stone Age archeology, from the Middle Paleolithic to the Late Neolithic. Lectures are the main part of the program, but the day is organized in such a way that there is also ample opportunity to show each other finds, to buy books and to exchange information. There is always a drink in conclusion.
