Heritage in Archaeology

The programme located at the University of Leiden provides a focus for research into archaeological resource management in a global context. The vision of the group is to conduct research into the role of the past in the present, to valorize the study of the past in projects around the world and in so doing to provide social and economic benefits from heritage research to local stakeholders: researchers and heritage managers as well as local communities and society at large. At the State Service for Cultural Heritage the emphasis is mainly put on the development of heritage in Dutch archaeology.
