9:00 – 9:45: Welcome reception with coffee and tea
9.45 – 10.00: Introduction by the organization
10:00 – 13:00: Morning session
3D MODELING IN ARCHAEOLOGY

This workshop will be aimed at digital 3D reconstruction of excavation data and includes a practical tutorial in which you will step by step learn how to build a 3D model based on actual archaeological features.

PROGRAMMING IN R

Learn how to use the programming language R for archaeological data. We will show you how to work with archaeological datasets to do statistics and create graphs.

13:00 – 14:00: lunch break (lunch is not provided).

To keep these workshops free, lunch is not provided, but you are welcome to take your own lunch or there’s the option to buy an affordable lunch at the university cafeteria.

14:00-17:00 – Afternoon session
GIS & DATABASE INTEGRATION

Learn how to combine GIS with databases to create maps and do spatial analyses.

IMAGE-BASED MODELING IN THE FIELD

This workshop will introduce you to the basics of Image-based Modeling, will feature a hands-on case study showcasing the workflow and providing tips & tricks, and will finish with a discussion on applications in archaeological contexts.

We will finish the day with some drinks and snacks!
