ARCHON wants to motivate students and early career researchers to publish their research during their (R)MA and PhD trajectory. To do so, we are organizing the workshop ‘Publishing tips for Early Career Researchers’. Additionally we offer online journals the possibility to introduce themselves to our members on our website. Are you a PhD or (R)MA student, and are looking for journals to submit your paper to? The journals listed below are open to, or especially meant for the publication of research by graduate and PhD students.
KLEOS is a peer-reviewed, open access academic online journal, launched in 2014, which publishes current research and review articles by graduate and PhD students, as well as starting independent researchers, from the fields of archaeology and ancient studies (i.e. classics and ancient History). TMA – Tijdschrift voor Mediterrane Archeologie
TMA (Journal of Mediterranean Archaeology) is a Dutch journal that has been publishing current Mediterranean archaeological research since 1988. Issues appear twice a year, one of which is dedicated to a theme such as landscape archaeology, zooarchaeology, architecture, gender or religion. The journal aims to publish a variety of articles written by established academics as well as junior researchers. Next to full-length articles, TMA offers reviews of recently published books and keeps the reader up-to-date on new or on-going research through short research introductions.
If you wish to publish your research, write a book review or a research introduction/update, you can contact TMA via their website. They do accept articles in English under the conditions that you are affiliated to a Dutch or Flemish institution or otherwise based in the Netherlands or Belgium and that your research is in the field of Mediterranean archaeology.
