During this event, we’ll be discussing known and new theoretical approaches in Gender archaeology, such as post-colonialism, queer theory, and critic of the hegemonic masculinity.Gender archaeology attempts to give voice to women, children and no-cis categories in past times, whose role was essential in the development and maintenance of the society. Many studies based on scientific methodologies, such as bioarchaeology or material culture studies, has helped to understand gender relationships in the past and the importance of women in the (Pre)history. The following symposium is formed by a series of talks, elaborated by an interdisciplinary group of specialized speakers, focused on different theoretical approaches and applied methodologies with a gender perspective. We invite all interested students and (young) researchers to share their outcomes with poster presentations and partake in the plenary discussion, without any limitations in the period or area of study.
