NVFA 40th Lustrum Symposium

We are happy to announce that registration for the NVFA’s 40^th Anniversary Symposium “Diseased, Damaged and Commingled: The Challenges and Opportunities of Studying Modified Archaeological Human Remains” is now open! We invite you to celebrate this commemorative event with us at the Rijksdienst voor het Cultureel Erfgoed in Amersfoort on Friday the 10^th of November. Expert lectures will explore the challenges, opportunities and ethical dimensions of studying modified and commingled remains. Hands-on workshops allow participants to learn new or hone existing practical skills. Lunch and refreshments are included, and the symposium will conclude with afternoon drinks and an Osteology Quiz! Credits: ARCHON members can receive 1 EC for attending the conference and handing in a reflection report afterwards.

Registration: Register for the Anniversary Symposium through the online registration form. IMPORTANT: your registration is complete once you have transferred the registration fee to the NVFA bank account (details listed in the form). Make sure to indicate your workshop preferences and whether you will participate in the Osteology Quiz in the form.

Student members of the NVFA: €25 (student ID must be shown on the day)
Members of the NVFA: €40
Non-members: €55

Note that ARCHON offers to compensate the registration costs for ARCHON members that want to attend the congress and handing in a reflection report afterwards.

Symposium dinner (limited spots available!): The Symposium dinner at Restaurant voor Iedereen is not included in the registration fee. Please indicate during registration whether you would like to join the dinner. The 3-course meal includes meat/fish, vegetarian and vegan options and costs €35 p.p. (drinks must be purchased separately on the day). Save your spot by making your payment before 1 November (details listed in the registration form).
