Assignment: Participants need to submit a proposal for a fictive individual research project (500 words) by 20 May 2020.

ARCHON is organizing a workshop for PhD students: How to get a postdoc. This workshop will be organized with the aim to offer PhD students information about what you can expect from a postdoc position and how to (successfully) apply for one. Topics such as different kinds of postdoc-positions, how to apply for positions and how to write an application will be discussed. The workshop will be given by research grants specialist Marco Last. Only 8 people can join the writing assignment. So make sure to register in time and cancel if you can’t make it.

Participants will receive individual feedback on their scientific proposals for a fictive individual research project, for example a VENI or a Rubicon. The committee will exist of representatives from the area of humanities and sociology.

Program:

11:00-11:30: Introduction – Marco Last.

11:30-12:00: How to be a PostDoc – Marleen Termeer.

12:00-12:45: Break

12:45-13:30: Feedback session.

13:30-13:45: Short break

13:45-14:30: Feedback session.

14:30-16:00: Extra time for individual questions or advise.

Registration:  Register by filling out the registration form below. There is a limited number of places in this workshop. So, make sure you register on time and please avoid cancelling last minute. Due to the limited number of spots, Archon members have priority.
